Recommended Posts

JAGS Sports Club, an independent sports centre based in the heart of Dulwich, is searching for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Caf? Manager to help set up and establish our brand new cafe, currently being built. The cafe is an eagerly anticipated addition to the Club and we are hoping it's an investment that will transform the very nature of what the Club represents.

The Caf? Manager will be pivotal from the very beginning and will ensure a consistent offering of fabulous coffee, excellent food, great vibes and a wonderful service to our 4500 plus members and drop in users.

The building of the caf? is due for completion within six weeks and we are aiming to open the cafe early spring 2017. We would love to see the new Manager in post by the beginning of the year so that they can be integral in all aspects of setting up before we open. This includes recruiting additional staff (especially baristas), creating menus, forging relationships with suppliers, organising the EPOS system and working closely with the Senior Management team to lock in a clear strategy for the oncoming year.

There will be a huge amount of freedom and scope within this role but fundamentally we are looking for someone who:

? Knows and cares about great coffee and is able to confidently prepare a full range of espresso-based drinks (with latte art)

? Has a good understanding of quality and tasty food for adults and kids, and is prepared to conduct basic food prep. A knowledge of local quality suppliers is advantageous

? Has direct experience of managing cafes to a high standard. Good customer care skills, health and safety and food hygiene knowledge, cash handling and budget setting knowledge are all essential

? Is a good listener, proactive, reliable, professional, can demonstrate experience of being a good leader of staff

? Has energy, creativity and the ability to visualise and liaise with the Senior Management on the wider picture including regular events, promotions, etc

For a full job description, please email [email protected]. Equally, if you think you?ve got what it takes to make this role yours, send your CV and a short covering letter to Andy at the same address.

The application deadline is 20th Nov 2016, interviews will take place w/c 28th November, practical interviews (coffee prep) will take place w/c 5th December. Post will be offered on 9th December.
