Any suggestions as to where to go for a quote on fitting a new gas fire? Where do you buy gas fires from?

Gas fires available from B&Q... Plumb Centre.. just search on line..

As for fitting..

Make sure you have a gas supply.

(some years back. a friend of mine bought a Gas cooker but then found out tower blocks dont have Gas) :)

Usually fitted in fireplace which needs to have an open flue.

If there is no gas at that point then supply pipes need to be installed so carpets and floor need to come up.

This all adds to the cost.

You will need a Gas Safe Engineer to install and check your appliance and the rest of your installation for leaks.
