Loz
If they do, three will disappear without trace. Only Matt Cardle and Rebecca have any chance of a career. DJKillaQueen
I disagree. Cher will do well in the urban youth hip hop niche.....like N-Dubz and those acts. The boy band will have their time and depending on how they go it will either be a couple of years or ten (the right management and songs will determine that). Longevity, you are right best lies with Rebecca, Matt and Treyc. I think the standard is really high. mockney piers
I don't know if it's the wine I've been drinking, but I thought it was all dreadful tonight.Rebecca at a pinch if she avoids the pop market and becomes a proper singer, maybe with a band and stuff, I'd recommend her to run a million miles from Mr Cowell though.Everyone else was awful, even Mr Grimshaw for whom I had a soft spot as i thought he actually cared about music.Of course Wagner was, once again, genius!!! hibbs
Well double M, its not very often that the Hibbster finds herself in on a Saturday evening but when she does she has to watch Stictly and X Factor, its easy watching, especially whilst savouring a few glasses of vino. Mick Mac
Absolutley - good to see you on a thread that does not menton curry! Strictly I can cope with but Simon Cowell I cannot. You be watching Match of the Day now I guess......"The Hibbster" (sounds a bit American Pie) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/12863-x-factor/page/6/#findComment-375124 Share on other sites
hibbs
Ha ha please explain American Pie reference. Why would I want to watch MOD, Quids has already mentioned the Hammers lost. Mick Mac
Thanks Mockney - though it was only me and Hibbs awake in ED tonight. Think American Pie was first to put "the" ahead of someones nickname eg The Stifler - nothing more sinister than that. Panic not hibbs. DJKillaQueen
MP I think you are joshing - 'Wagner was brilliant' lol. There is vocal talent on the show....and some of those acts are going to do very well even if they don't win the X Factor. Sure mostly they won't achieve international superstar status (that requires something really special) but then how many musicians/ bands with successful careers do anyway. Isn't it enough just to have some level of success? Doesn't mean everyone is crap.Totally agree about Cowell though. He's not a good manager. He's made Leona Lewis completely boring (made her a lot of money yes...but dull with it). JLS on the other hand have been the monster success they have because Cowell doesn't manage them. They are signed to his companay but a different team take care of them. Loz
Proof that Rebecca can sing more than just jazz favourites... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIk6uYuFIAI(Vocals start at about 01.30) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/12863-x-factor/page/6/#findComment-375358 Share on other sites

Pickle
John went, it was between him and TrayC. No great loss, nice enough guy but not a particularly strong singer. TrayC is an excellent singer but I don't like her, seems a bit smug (perhaps not anymore now that she's been in the bottom 2). ????
Someone actually did a Led Zep song on Saturday - still not heard a Smiths or Cure or maybe even The Fall. Meanwhile, the irish one with a very good Shirley Bassey voice continues to do, er, Shirley Bassey numbers, the girl with the Blues voices does, er, Nina Simone, the fat black guy who everyone keeps saying has a voice 'like Luther Vandross', continues to do, er, Luther Vandross like Soul Ballads, the ones who can't sing get big backing and 'exciting' stage shows to mask their incompetence. The only two who are any good for entirely different reasons are the bloke whoi did the Britney cover, I honestly thought it was great and as Mockers said the genius that is Wagner (DJKQ genius not brillitn I think you missed MP's point). It's doing it for me in its normal mixture between car crash and pantomine way. RosieH
Spot on Quids - I loved the Britney cover (actually, I'm ashamed to say, to the point of contemplating downloading it).X Factor hasn't yet done 80s indie, but did you know that last year Strictly did a Buzzcocks number? *Bob*
This was Cardle's last chance for me, but he blew it with his whiny take on Travis doing Britney. Here's a great Britney cover, well worth downloading. Loz
Wagner was again, utterly but awfully brilliant. I'd love to know if the final group flash by the dancers was a little joke he wasn't in on.I thought that only Cardle and Katie Weasel stuck with the 'Guilty Pleasures' theme. Since when has Led Zepp been a guilty pleasure? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/12863-x-factor/page/6/#findComment-375420 Share on other sites

DJKillaQueen
Cher will sell loads of albums to the same youngsters that buy N-Dubz, Plan B, Giggs and so on. Love her or hate her she is totally 'current'. She will get a recording contract.
