Refugee Film Night with Guardian's John Domokos. Thurs. 17th Nov, 7PM, The Ivy House, SE15 3BE

Recommended Posts

We would like to invite you to an evening of short films and discussion that reflect the continuing refugee crisis and highlight individual stories.

John Domokos, one of the Guardian's refugee and migration correspondents, will introduce the evening with a short overview of the current international and national situation, and then present one of his films.

Local directors/producers Nima Shahmalekpur and Anna Merryfield will present their short-film, Gudiparan, about kite maker and flyer Ahmadzia. Ahmadzia is an Afghan refugee now living in Southwark.

Journalists/video-producers from the Refugee Journalism Project based at London College of Communication will show some of their work and talk about it.

We'll also be showing some short films from Save the Children.

There will be a Q &A after each of the films and plenty of time for discussion.

Entrance is free, but we will have a collection for refugee support organisations.

The Ivy House pub provides food.

We hope to see you on November 17th. Please tell friends, family, workmates etc about the event.
