We have a fairly flimsy alumninium loft ladder that I am too terrified to use - particularly as it has to abut a landing at the top of the stairs. I always have visions of it coming loose and plunging ladder and all down the stairway.

Does anyone have anything more sturdy that they would recommend I replace it with? Is a wooden ladder better?
