largeginandtonic
How old is your child? Playdates often fall more easily into place when they are at full-time nursery school I reckon. I have a nanny for two kids - 1 & 5 - Wednesday to Friday and we live in Camberwell (off Grove Lane) if that might interest her? Pickle
Hi there,There used to be a large nanny contingent at the playgroup in Dulwich Village on Tuesday mornings (St Barnabus Church hall) and also at the Goose Green playgroup on Thursday mornings - although I haven't been to either for a while now so that might have changed. There are also lots of kiwi Mums in the area, as another option for her (me included).P Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/12747-my-new-nanny-needs-to-get-to-know-other-local-nannies/#findComment-351667 Share on other sites
Belle
Another thing to try might be some of the regular classes - sing and sing, little bubbles etc - when term starts again? There are sometimes nannies/minders at those plus it's a good way to meet other mums/kids in quite a structured format (sometimes playgroups are a little daunting esp if feeling she's the only nanny etc). legalalien
Hi there,I replied to your nanny on the other thread - I agree with Pickle that kiwi mums (and for that matter, other mums) are to some extent likely to be a solution - all a question of attitude. As a mum and previous nanny employer I have no problem hanging out with nannies - as opposed to mums - if I like them and have something in common with them - in my case a bit of an age gap but if they're prepared to put up with a nearly-40 fogey like me then no issue!
