Fidgetsmum
Really wanted a Phil and Ted's for newborn due in December and my 3 yr old daughter, but having tried them out, my daughter just won't fit when it's set up for newborn and toddler. Her head gets in the way of the raincover and with a baby due at Christmas, I can only presume it'll be peeing with rain (or snow) quite a lot. I know that buggy boards are an option, but she gets VERY bored on one and won't stay put and I just want the peace of mind being able to strap her in will bring, when dealing with newborn as well.I've seen the Out and About which is very well reviewed and has a side by side configuration - does anyone own one? Would you recommend? It's not my ideal as I'd MUCH rather an inline but I haven't yet found an inline buggy which, when set up for newborn and toddler, looks like it might have enough headroom for her. Any help out there? jollybaby
My sister bought an 'out and about' on the birth of her 2nd child 3 1/2 years ago and it is still going strong. It survived her two daughters (the eldest was big for her age- 97th centile!) and it is now being used for her childminding duties. She finds it really light, easy to manouevre and it fits through most doorways - so a definite recommendation from here. jac428
I love our nipper 360. If it doesn't rain, we will be in Peckham Rye park tomorrow from 10:30 until around 1 near the cafe. There are a couple twins moms who have the nipper as well who will be joining me and you are welcome to try your daughter out in ours. It fits in any wheelchair accessible door and if you can't fit most of the time you can pop one wheel off and get through. Fidgetsmum
Thanks Ladies! It would save us a (what will probably be) a stressful trip to a pram shop somewhere. Fuschia and HelenGV - yes please we'd love to come and try out if that's really ok? If that's not ok, then yes please to jac428!You're doing me a huge favour so let me know times/locations etc. Thanks very much again. RobMiller
We're v pleased with our BabyJogger City Mini Double (bit of a mouthful that!). Slightly narrower than the Nipper, easier to turn than the single buggies we use for holiday and also seems to be coping well with a pair of strapping two year olds (although we have had to replace the back wheels which wore out a few months ago). kiyoaki
Fidgetsmum definitely don't buy a P&T if your daughter is tall as chances are your next one will be as well. My 11 week old baby is long for his age and has been far too long for the newborn bit of the P&T pretty much since birth - it's so annoying. My first son who's nearly 2 isn't tall for his age and he's already getting too big for the toddler seat too - he can't sleep in it when it's in the recline position as his head is slammed at an angle. I phoned P&T for advice on both issues, their response was that "they could only design buggies for the average length child" and that the toddler seat in the newborn set up "wasn't designed to reclined beyond the age of 1 year". How many of their customers have a newborn and a toddler (baby) under the age of 1?! Grr. I bought the P&T as everyone seems to have them so thought they must be a good bet?!
