Ladygooner
So alarm in the lounge was bleeping so I duly changed the battery (it is electric and battery). Still it kept bleeping intermittently. Went on the internet and the advice was to turn off the electricity with the battery out and then turn on electric and put battery back in. Did that 3 times. It seems alarm is past it's best so have ordered a new one online. Until the replacement one arrives, how can I stop the old one bleeping. Have removed alarm with battery and electric connection. Help! Noise is driving me slowly mad! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/126549-how-to-silence-a-bleeping-smoke-alarm/ Share on other sites

Otta
Does it have a test button? Maybe hold that to make it go off for a second, and see if that sorts it...Has worked for me in the past, but that wasn't wired in to the mains. Robert Poste's Child
Has it got a wire you can pull out, given you're replacing it anyway? Jennys
Are you sure the new battery isn't faulty? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/126549-how-to-silence-a-bleeping-smoke-alarm/#findComment-1057757 Share on other sites
