Just had one at out door, agresive and full of attitude - is so annoying and when im home alone terrifying...

I want them to stop, any suggestions, is it just better not to answer??

If you are fearful, don't answer the door if you are not expecting anyone. Or put a spyhole/chain arrangement on the door.

we do have that but once you get that far they know youre there...

Just because someone knows you're at home doesn't mean you have to answer the door. It is your home afterall not theirs

Don't feel bad about slamming the door in peoples face, it feels strangely empowering :-P But as others have said, use the chain on the door, or just don't answer the door if your not expecting someone/delivery.

I don't answer my front door after dark when I'm alone. Everyone who knows me knows that. Therefore, anyone who knows me will ring me to tell me they are standing on my doorstep and would I answer the door. No phone call, no open door. My house, my rules.
