Any ideas for a good beach/lakes that you can get to by train?

Hi - this is a bit like the thread which you can drive to but I am car-less. I can get places by train/tube - can anyone suggest anywhere nice that is not too far on the train (up to an hour max maybe) with a 19month old daughter? So fed up of being stuck at home thought I would take her somewhere nice Sat or Sunday?
