ARGGGGGGGGGGGG RANT RANT RANT

I AM HAVING THE MOST FRUSTRATING TIME EVER WITH THE M@R0NS AT MY GP PRACTICE.

Seriously, how hard is booking an appointment?? making a referral???? changing my details on your records???? following up enquiries?????? why do I have to answer 20 dumb questions only to be told I have to call back another day to speak to a dr/nurse before they can do anything WHEN I HAVE ALREADY SPOKEN TO THE DR/NURSE...or constantly repeat what I have already told them because they have the short term memory of a goldfish!!!!!!!!!! I could go on.......././...

I need to change....

Can anyone recommend their gp surgery??

I phoned DMC for an appointment last week and got a cancellation the same day, in fact in less than an hour's time.

That's not bad.

However I still intend moving (haven't got round to it yet) as their turnover of GPs seems to be really high. I have no complaints at all about the medical treatment I have had there, I would just like some continuity of care.

Funny enough, I rang and got an appointment within 20 mins, same day. I don't go that much but they're ok for me. (DMC)

Lot's of people left DMC as it at one point at least just became a referral service for the drop in centre in Peckham. Maybe so many have moved that they're able to provide a better service to those who remain? Seems unlikely that the number of patients will have dropped too significantly though I'd have thought.

Thanks everyone. I'm not in the catchment for the gardens - shame.

I'm in touch with my GP practice about a couple of things at the moment and so you can imagine the chaos. The latest and one of the more funny errors is that they have misspelt my surname (which consists of 5 letters) 3 times in correspondance and even managed to misspell it in different ways. On the ball....NOT.

    • That explanation sounds highly unlikely!  Surely the "days of the week" plates must be a standard size. I know Royal Mail often appears incompetent, but it  couldn't be that stupid, surely. Was it 1 April?!
    • Looking for a short length of electric (twin & earth)  lighting cable. Most likely there could be some in a skip near you??
    • Southwark's recycling guidance says to put shredded paper in the blue bin in a paper envelope or "small box". I've got far too much of it for that  (confidential stuff going back decades) - thanks to the EDF member who kindly gave me a shredder! It would be a "massive box". I have barely started  the shredding, and I've already got an extremely large bagful.   I've read online that you can put it into  large clear plastic bags in the bin for paper,  provided you  clearly label it "shredded paper" and it is obvious what it is. Does anybody know if Southwark would accept it like that? Alternatively, can anyone make use of it for animal bedding or packaging material or adding to  compost?
    • I'm happy to report that some foxgloves are now looking great in my garden. The bees are loving them. Also managed to grow some corn poppies from seed. I've left some decaying logs in the corner so maybe there are some stag beetles there.
