Come and learn how to get your garden into shape for next year. I'll show you which bulbs to plant for maximum colourful display, which shrubs are easiest and give you the most for your money, how to get free plants by dividing old ones, seeds to sow now which will survive the winter, how to prune and much more - there's a lot to do in Autumn! This session could serve as a taster for the 6 session How to Garden course starting in March 2017 or stand alone as an inspirational session to get you gardening! Held in a lovely SE22 garden, the session is aimed at beginners, classes are small - 6 max so there are lots of opportunities to ask questions. Costs ?35 and includes refreshments and free seeds and information sheets. Call Jane on 07952 898025 or email [email protected] to book a place or for more information. Time to get gardening!

This sounds like it was a lovely event. Are you running any more specific courses before next March? We are a design/plant and maint company locally and might be able to support or promote you. It is always great to spread the gardening bug. Let's PM maybe if you like. Best, M

    • This was posted last Saturday by Jb. "No the collections were separate, although both funds transferred to his brother, Asif. You could pop in and speak to his brother if you wanted more details but I believe they plan to fund a well in Africa. Thanks if you donated, the brothers were very grateful and touched."
    • it would seem very likely that they are trying it on if it their area - ie not a responsibility of the freehold. The freehold would cover the building structure (walls, foundation, roof) - possibly freeholder would have responsibility for the front door - if so, does the freeholder have the windows? Usually grey area in a lease so you could look at past instances - who has paid for window replacement, front door to be painted etc?
    • Thanks for these comments. Very helpful. The porch and hallway shows on their lease plan but we share the freehold together.
    • Ok.  You have bigger problems than this s20 notice.  How have you let one freeholder dominate things.  You both have the equal right to decide how to manage the communal areas of the property.  I would get some legal advice on your duties and rights as a freeholder and then request a meeting  to reset the relationship. Also as noted in other posts is the front yard and door actually the responsibility of the freeholder.  These are all questions you should ask in your S20 response.
