Bike Train to Central London September 28th

Not many more of these weekly ones before we move to our winter timetable. However, it's still summer so:

A Bike Train is an escorted ride.

We take riders from Peckham, Denmark Hill and Nunhead to work, arriving at the north end of Blackfriars Bridge at 8.45am. Return rides arranged personally.

We leave Nunhead at 8am, Denmark Hill and Peckham Rye stations at 8.10am. At Denmark Hill we leave from the cafe in Windsor Walk led by Liz Eden (07814 515 715). The two rides meet and arrive at Blackfriars at 8.45am. The starting point at Peckham Rye is the bike stands behind McDonalds. From Blackfriars riders are taken on individually (if they want) and destinations so far include Faringdon, Kings Cross, Westminster, Mayfair and Tower Hill.

Our route takes in two parks, a traffic-calmed backstreet, the cycling-on-the-pavement lanes on the New Kent Road, the Elephant and Castle by-pass and then the new TfL segregation. It?s very quiet and enjoyable, mostly off-road (through parks) and then a backstreet. After that we are on segregation which is where there is a part of the road for bikes only, protected by about 2m of pavement.

The map is here:

Entirely free and all welcome. To join in Denmark Hill text Liz Eden on 07814 515 715 or for Nunhead and Peckham text me on 07842 640 207 or don?t do any of that and just turn up.

    • I’m amazed that the council and Gala go through this fabrication of a consultation considering Gala started selling early bird tickets in November 2024 therefore they know it’s going to happen.
    • Hopefully one of the local tech guys can assist you.
    • Yes, I saw it. It was in response to my post asking whether there was an update. It seems that may be the one which  jb is apparently saying is "sarcastic", as I can't think of anything else If that is the case , it is quite upsetting that they should think that of me,  given the very sad  subject of that thread.  I had already edited my previous post on here to say that, after I had had a look to see what jb could be referring to, but I don't know whether that was before or after your post above, as that is starting a new page and I've only just seen it. They both say 2 hours ago. Anyway, I'm tired of the whole thing. I don't mind being accused of things I've actually done, and if I agree I've done wrong then I will always  apologise. But to be subject to a very public attack, when many  people know who I am,  which appears to be completely unfounded as jb despite requests  has provided nothing to back  up their statements, is very depressing. ETA: I know I can be outspoken, on here and in real life, but I don't think that is what I was being accused of.
    • It can get pretty bad on our road, drives me mad. As mentioned on the previous thread though, when I've reported any to the council they've been pretty quick at cleaning it up  https://www.southwark.gov.uk/parking-streets-and-transport/street-care/dog-poo
