MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction)


Mindfulness is an ancient way of living in the present and experiencing life moment by moment. Mindfulness-based approaches to stress relief have helped millions of people overcome the effects of stress and anxiety and find peace of mind in a busy world. On these eight week introductory mindfulness courses, participants will learn simple skills that will enable them to manage reactions to the stresses and strains of life, develop greater inner stability, and experience more happiness and fulfilment in their lives.

I will be starting a Mindfulness and Self Compassion Course in January. This will include the traditional mindfulness exercises found in MBSR courses but there will also be a focus on developing a kinder way of relating to ourselves especially during stressful or emotionally charged times. We can often be incredibly hard on ourselves instead of being encouraging which can lead to more stress, anxiety, low mood, anger and guilt. During the course there will be an emphasis on getting unstuck from these negative thinking and feeling cycles.


The course will run for 8 weeks on Friday evenings starting in January. Exact dates and times TBC.
