Asset
The Lounge posts keep resetting themselves as unread so every time I come back to it there is 500 or so new posts. Only happening with Lounge ones. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1242-reset-new-posts/ Share on other sites
mockney piers
Yeah, it seems to happen when a thread gets lounged from the gossip room. And it does it in a really haphazard manner too, shooting fish in a barrel as it were. Mark
hmmm, I'll raise a ticket with the techies and keep an eye on it. If you notice anything else please let me know as more facts make it easier to establish what the actual cause isThanks for letting us know Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1242-reset-new-posts/#findComment-33101 Share on other sites
SeanMacGabhann
Tell them what you believe the problem to be and say if they believe it too it will make the fix easier Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1242-reset-new-posts/#findComment-33146 Share on other sites
mockney piers
We've a couple of problems with our scheduled overnight processes at the moment.I'm going to stop with all this stupid scientific checking for bugs or issues in our data, and wave my hands over the servers. Hopefully the cosmic energy should sort the problem, or at least make the server feel better about itself. You might want to suggest that to the phorum developers. Asset
I'll send some remote positive energy too - that should help. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1242-reset-new-posts/#findComment-33153 Share on other sites
mockney piers
That's great asset, thanks. I could give you our ip addresses and perhaps you could ping the server with nice aphorisms like"I can accomplish anything because I am efficient and enterprising""I radiate charisma and personal energy" or "I can tap my full creative power whenever I wish", that should do the trick. mockney piers
Just happened again when you lounged the coffee bar thread. I had 30 'new' posts scattered haphazardly about older threads and haphazardly within those new threads. mockney piers
where else in the world would "lounged the coffee bar thread" actually make sense?!? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1242-reset-new-posts/#findComment-33490 Share on other sites
Asset
After the Plough thread was lounged I had about 70 new posts in the lounge, all of which I had read before. There must be a pattern to it but I haven't worked it out yet. mockney piers
Mark, is it possible to trace what the move thread button does. If it kicks off a stored procedure or embedded sql, I bet you there's some sort of a bug in there. Any chance you could zap it over so I could have a peek at it? Asset
It just happened in my Wanted section a few minutes ago, 40 odd new posts all read before. peckhamboy
It's happened to me a couple of times - does seem to happen after a thread has been relocated. But also, any chance of a "Reset all new posts" button, so you don't have to reset each section individually? Or is there one already that I've never noticed? Mark
I'm trying to get a reset all posts button, when I do it'll replace the space where the donate button was at the bottom right of the page. mockney piers
I keep getting 953 new threads and 22000 odd new posts on the general issues room, something odd is happening.Or maybe that's just what happened over the last 2 weeks ;) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1242-reset-new-posts/#findComment-63474 Share on other sites
Mark
hmmm, not sure. It's something to do with cookies and the database, too complicated for me to understand. I'm looking at moving the forum to the new upgraded software in the new year which will hopefully be faster and less "buggy" (although I think this one is pretty bug free unless you're definately searching for a special-ised new post) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1242-reset-new-posts/#findComment-63533 Share on other sites
