julesh
Hi guys A complete long shot but does anyone know if American Au pairs are allowed to come and work in the UK ? I have a feeling the rules have changed and the US are not participating in the Au Pair scheme? Any advice would be very welcome! Thanks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/12393-american-au-pairs-in-the-uk/ Share on other sites
snowboarder
The US were never part of the au pair scheme, which was phased out in November 2008. There are a number of ways that a US national may work in the UK, depending on their circumstances. For example, if they are currently studying for a degree in the US, or have just completed a degree in the US, they may be eligible to come to the UK to work for two years under the BUNAC scheme.I hope that helps. To advise further, I would need to know more about her personal circumstances.Mr Snowboarder Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/12393-american-au-pairs-in-the-uk/#findComment-344814 Share on other sites
jac428
I understood BUNAC only allowed Americans to work for up to six months. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/12393-american-au-pairs-in-the-uk/#findComment-344983 Share on other sites
