Initially a folk-blues guitarist he is as responsible as anyone else ? and more so than many ? for ushering in the acoustic blues boom in the U.K. in the mid ?60s. He has, arguably, stretched the possibilities of that genre even more than his better known contemporaries Davy Graham, Bert Jansch, John Renbourn etc. by pursuing it into the more avant-garde musical areas occupied by guitar innovators such as Elliott Sharp, Keith Rowe, Fred Frith and Marc Ribot, with an eclectic mix of the many styles he has practiced over the years.

"Cooper, now in his seventies, is making the most adventurous music of his life? incredibly rich and evocative, and as a live performance, it?s utterly flawless. Cooper takes live guitar processing and sampling as his raw material, using it to build something complex and substantive, full of ideas and surprises, not just abandoning it half-formed. ? (Jonathan Dean ? Brainwashed.)

Mike is coming over from his home in Italy specially to perform at the Goose, so please do come and see him!

You Are Wolf is Kerry Andrew, she explores English and American folk and original leftfield pop with gentle touches of electronica, weaves in spoken word and throws in an array of wild vocal techniques. She has been played on BBC 6Music by Tom Robinson, Gideon Coe and Stuart Maconie, Radio 3?s Late Junction and New York?s premier indie radio station WFUV.

Long Pike Hollow is the alter ego of Piers Haslam, who has also appeared at the Goose many times.

In this incarnation, free rein is allowed for excursions into more experimental musical terrain with ?American Primitive? guitar as a starting point.

    • It's great that the council will do this, but it does seem a costly waste of their scarce resources, unless there are factors which I don't know about? Surely rather than dealing with a few piles of dog poo on request on an as and when basis they need to find some way of addressing the whole problem? What do other boroughs/countries do? Have things got worse since COVID, when the dog population seems to have quadrupled round here? Did some people acquire dogs without thinking through the less cuddly aspects of ownership? Could dogs be trained to use a litter tray and/or bury their own poo, like cats do? 🤣 (That was a joke, btw).

    • They could refund tix already bought though, couldn't they? We did this recently when we had to reschedule a gig due to the headliner's serious illness. That was a bit different because people had the option to transfer their tix to the new date when confirmed. But in  theory everybody could have got a refund, though in practice only a few people took that option up.
