The Concrete House was built by Charles Drake, my great grandfather, and my family and I are particularly keen to see it restored. We believe that Charles Drake was living in a house known as The Ferns, Lordship Lane, when he died in 1892, but I don't know which house it is - if it is still in existence, that is. Does anyone know what number it is or was?

This photo must have been taken some time ago. I walked all the way down Lordship lane just to find it the other day and its in such a bad way. There is barely a roof tile in situ nowadays and it looks as though all the floors fell through a long time ago.

What's with the rear of the building anyway? When I peared over the fence it looks as if the building now has an extension - or perhaps an adjoining building? You can't see it here so it must be pretty new? It looks horrible - some god awful hash up, vaguely reminiscent of the original style.

I read that the owner wants it leveled so to build on it? I think they'll end up getting what they want by neglecting it this much. A real shame.

Would be nice to see it restored but I guess it would cost far more than it would ever be worth doing so?

    • A random post, but I was just wondering if anyone was friends with my late father Mr David Bryan? I had a pretty broken relationship with him, but I would love to connect with any of his former friends. He lived on Waldram Park Road, Forest Hill for many years, but also used to live in East Dulwich on/off in the late 90s. He used to use the bookies/betting shops in Forest Hill quite a lot. Unfortunately, he passed away suddenly in September 2015 but I hadn't seen him for several years prior to his death.
    • Thank you, that's what the bus driver said when I handed it to him. It is how I was raised.
    • I am really not finding your comments at all helpful. Could you just please stop comment you are upsetting me. I finally received a telephone appointment on 1st April. I am in pain. After a number of questions from the GP, I am told I need to be examined. Nearest appointment slot almost a week away. Attended the appoint. Told I need hospital tests. the day after the referral I visited the clinic and explained I was in pain and could i have an appointment. Was lucky as there was a cancellation. I attended, now I have to wait for the results to be sent back to the GP. Nothing showing on My Chart so I guess i will have to continue to wait. On Monday it will be a month since I last raised this problem.
