Self cleaning nanocoating harnesses the power of both sun and rain in order to keep buildings clean Silas Mueller

Submitted 2014-03-05 18:13:50 Self-cleaning nanocoating harnesses the power of both sun and also rain to keep buildings clean.

Maintaining a building?s structural integrity and exterior looks can often be burdensome-not to mention costly. Maintenance crews in all sectors of building managements often use chemicals that-although they service their purpose-are dangerous towards the environment and the techniques of cleaning must be constantly repeated. That?s exactly where ?SolarStucco? & ?Gens Nano? developed by Green Earth Nano Science Nathaniel Clyne England Jersey , Inc. from Canada comes in. Through the use of nanotechnology and photocatalyst, Green Earth Nano Science Inc., has created a self-cleaning coating that serves to protect a building?s exterior finish, whilst leaving much less footprints on the environments.

As time passes, building surfaces are subjects to adhesion of organic pollutants such as organic-based dirt, mold, fungus and moss Joe Hart England Jersey , and conventional cleaning agents cannot only temporarily sweep the pollutants away. SolarStucco?s self-cleaning coating, in contrast to its competitors, is an effective solution to maintaining a building?s long-term structural integrity as one application is enough keep the exterior clean for years.

The key to the SolarStucco coating chemical is the use of nanotechnology and photocatalyst Nanotechnology, in a broad sense, refers to the science of manipulating matters on the molecular level, that is within the range of 1 micrometer to 100 nanometers. Photocatalyst, on the other hand Wayne Rooney England Jersey , refers to the self-cleaning agent?s ability to utilize radiation (i.e. sunlight) to increase reaction rates between itself and another agent (i.e. mold).

The photocatalysis mechanism entails using what is known as titanium dioxide (TiO2). The molecule?s ability to absorb ultraviolet (UV) radiation enables Gens Nano?s coating to possess particular hydrophilic functions that would otherwise be absent in non-photocatalyst coatings. When the ?Gens Nano? (also branded under name ?SolarStucco?) hydrophilic nanocoating is applied, the angle at which the surface and water come in contact will steadily reduce when exposed to light. After enough exposure to sunlight, the photocatalyst surface will attain a super-hydrophilicity state. Meaning, water will no longer exist in the shape of a drop, but rather they will spread out evenly across the surface. When the water is spread evenly across the Gens Nano coating, gravity kicks in and effectively cleans the surface as water carrying pollutants streams toward the base of the building.

Additional advantages to Gens Nano?s hydrophilic coating is it protects the structure from harmful UV light (anti-color fading) and the antistatic nature of the photocatalyst coating assists to keep small dust and ash particles from attaching to the surface.

The hydrophilic coating also keeps bacteria and mold from attaching and growing, resulting in cleaner air as the anti-bacterialfungal surface also acts as an air purification coating. Spores and some bacteria can remain aerial for quite some time before attaching to a substrate and grow Jamie Vardy England Jersey , and so it is essential that building surfaces do not serve these purposes. The TiO2 coating from Gens Nano ensures that not only does the surface of buildings do not become home to detrimental organic agents, but that its faux air purification coating will keep these molds and bacteria away from a long time.

Where traditional methods of building cleaning fail to achieve maximum effectiveness, Gens Nano & SolarStucco photocatalyst coatings will not. One application of the self-cleaning hydrophilic coating will keep a building?s surface dust-free and mold-free for years. Less maintenance the building?s exterior will allow companies to save money and make use of the funds for more important matters. Moreover, much less use of dangerous detergent and conservation of clean water in cleaning mean businesses will be doing their part in preserving the environment.

    • Tommy has been servicing our boiler for a number of years now and has also carried out repairs for us.  His service is brilliant; he’s reliable, really knowledgeable and a lovely guy.  Very highly recommended!
    • I have been using Andy for many years for decorating and general handyman duties. He always does a great job, is very friendly and his prices are competitive. Highly recommend.
    • Money has to be raised in order to slow the almost terminal decline of public services bought on through years of neglect under the last government. There is no way to raise taxes that does not have some negative impacts / trade offs. But if we want public services and infrastructure that work then raise taxes we must.  Personally I'm glad that she is has gone some way to narrowing the inheritance loop hole which was being used by rich individuals (who are not farmers) to avoid tax. She's slightly rebalanced the burden away from the young, putting it more on wealthier pensioners (who let's face it, have been disproportionately protected for many, many years). And the NICs increase, whilst undoubtedly inflationary, won't be directly passed on (some will, some will likely be absorbed by companies); it's better than raising it on employees, which would have done more to depress growth. Overall, I think she's sailed a prudent course through very choppy waters. The electorate needs to get serious... you can't have European style services and US levels of tax. Borrowing for tax cuts, Truss style, it is is not. Of course the elephant in the room (growing ever larger now Trump is in office and threatening tariffs) is our relationship with the EU. If we want better growth, we need a closer relationship with our nearest and largest trading block. We will at some point have to review tax on transport more radically (as we see greater up take of electric vehicles). The most economically rational system would be one of dynamic road pricing. But politically, very difficult to do
    • Labour was right not to increase fuel duty - it's not just motorists it affects, but goods transport. Fuel goes up, inflation goes up. Inflation will go up now anyway, and growth will stagnate, because businesses will pass the employee NIC hikes onto customers.  I think farms should be exempt from the 20% IHT. I don't know any rich famers, only ones who work their fingers to the bone. But it's in their blood and taking that, often multi-generation, legacy out of the family is heart-breaking. Many work to such low yields, and yet they'll often still bring a lamb to the vet, even if the fees are more than the lamb's life (or death) is worth. Food security should be made a top priority in this country. And, even tho the tax is only for farms over £1m, that's probably not much when you add it all up. I think every incentive should be given to young people who want to take up the mantle.
