V511
We live on Everthorpe Road, which lies between Oglander and Copleston Road at the Grove Vale end. Over the last few days a friendly short-haired black cat has been coming in through our cat flap, trying to adopt us it seems! They are average size, doesn't look very young, doesn't meow at all, all black, no white patches, and has one white whisker on the right side as you look at him. Can't tell if male or female, but we may take them to a vet to check for a chip, and then check the sex then. They seem in good health and their coat looks well so i don't think they're a stray but am wondering if they are a local cat whose owners have gone away perhaps as the cat seems keen for company.Have spoken with local neighbours but they don't know, so maybe they are from further afield. If you recognise the cat in the attached pictures, please let us know.Thanks,Simon. Brulysses
Hi,I lost my cat Cosmo at xmas, he's a big, noisy boy...hard to really tell from the pics, but does this cat fit that kind of description? It's a bit of a long shot, but I thought I would ask, we live in Grove Park, Camberwell so it's not too far Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/121561-is-this-your-cat/#findComment-1043062 Share on other sites
Brulysses
ps you could try and get his chip read at the vets or Celia Hammond... Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/121561-is-this-your-cat/#findComment-1043063 Share on other sites

Delainie
There are two of my neighbours on Oxenford street with black cats, both very small and young, one wears red collar. might be one of those. It wouldn't be hungry though. Coach Beth
It is very possible that this is our cat... she loves to wander the gardens between Oxenford and Everthrope and she is very sociable - she used to go in our next door neighbours flat when the neighbour left her back door open and she would sit and watch the neighbour do her washing up in the kitchen and meow at her. She is terribly vocal - she would be doing her best to communicate with you constantly with her meow's so if this cat isn't doing that I don't think it's her! One photo it looked like her but the other not so much .... it could be a black cat that lives somewhere on Marsden Road or Ondine Road .... I was stuck by the Marsden/Ondine black cat's resemblence to ours, except it was abit more stocky. V511
Delanie - this cat isn't small, kind of average size and doesn't look too young, so probably not that one. Thanks though. Coach Beth - this cat isn't vocal at all, and likes to keep moving rather than sit and watch us, so probably not yours either. Thanks though. V511
Delainie - thanks for the heads up. Just saw those posters this morning too, but it's not our visitor as they don't have a white patch like the one on the poster. Delainie
Are we talking about same poster? As there are posters up re a lost black and white cat, the one I saw was a small poster, all black cat, haven't seen poster anywhere else other than on lampost on corner between Oxenford and copleston. Doesn't give much detail. Good luck with solving who it belongs to. 1921
http://www.rspca.org.uk/adviceandwelfare/pets/cats/straycatsHi, if you have access to a printer you could download stray cat paper collars and pop one on the cat. They are in section 2 of the page. It may help you contact the owner.L Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/121561-is-this-your-cat/#findComment-1044195 Share on other sites

Raised by Bears
Does this cat have a yellow bell and yellow eyes on a collar? If so he is visiting us too! V511
Raised by Bears - no, our friendly visitor doesn't have a collar. We tried putting a paper collar on with our contact details but they hated that and tore it off quickly. Turtle - no news yet. We've gone away for a week, so if they're still visiting when we return, we'll take them to the ver to see if they're chipped. Foz
Found: one elderly male black and white cat, been regularly seen by skips and bins in Honour Oak Park area for a few weeks and mentioned in local forums. Picked up in Honour Oak Park on Tues 20th Sept, checked over by the lovely folks at CHAT Lewisham but not microchipped unfortunately. Currently being cared for. He is very friendly and has clearly been loved. Please get in touch with a photo or description for verification if anyone thinks he belongs to them. KrackersMaracas
Foz - that's kind of you to care for it. Might be worth starting a new thread for this cat, and maybe a photo if you can get one? Foz
Hi KrackersMaracas - I was advised by the people at Celia Hammond not to put up photos in case non-genuine claimants turn up! I will start a new thread with the same message though. Thank you for the advice!
