A SECURITY guard has spoken of his desperate attempt to save a man who was found hanged in a park beauty spot.

Two dog walkers discovered the body of the man, who has not been named by police, hanging from the rafters of a wooden shelter in the serene Japanese gardens in Peckham Rye Park at around 5.30am on Tuesday.

Sikiru Raji, 40, of Kingdom Security Services Ltd, was guarding the nearby Peckham Rye Cafe building site.

He said: "Two women came up with their dogs and called me over to the park. They said there was a man who wanted to hang himself.

"I jumped the fence into the park and ran up to the shelter
