Here's a little something for Man ure loving spadetownboy lifted from the sports section of thelondonpaper.

"Sir smart Alick Fergusmoan took his Man Ure players to Saudi Arabia for a friendly this week. Asked how they felt about playing against representatives of a repressive totalitarian regime reviled by millions, the Saudi Arabian players said you've got to take each game as it comes!!!"

WELL PLAYED

Just got back from the Arse, a good second half display saw off the toon. 2 Great goals from bad boy Adebayor, a huge performance from Clichy who is now firm candidate for best left back in the world, Eduardo looks different class.

Toon were very good in the first 15 minutes but after that they fizzled out. Somebody should take Alan Smith to one side and teach him the offside rule, and at the same time give him a half decent haircut.

The shock of the day was seeing Havant and Waterlooville holding Pool to a 2 - 2 draw at half time. I would love to have been a fly on the wall as Rafa gave his team talk during the break.

The Havant & Waterlooville half time score line reaffirmed my belief in the dear old FA cup. But it also made me realise that the prima donnas of the premier league probably play for the love of money rather than the love of the game. Having said that I would be the first to admit the football stop being a sport and became a business at about the same time that shirt sponoring was introduced, which is a heck of a while ago.

Shirt sponsorship is a sore point - what is it? 5-10 mil a season or something - which is the cost of a squad player.

Screw it - how cool would it be if one club just said "we are classier than that - let's just wear club colours and be done with it"

That club isn't going to be` Arsenal unfortunately, but the first club to do so will have a place in my heart forever

Barca don't have a sponsor on their shirts. They do however publicise Unicef and sponsor the charity by way of donations and wearing the logo on their strip. Gotta respect them for that (tu)

Re' the Liverpool FA cup game - wtf were we playing at? Only listened to the match and am waiting for MOTD, but jeeze!!! Can do without that kind of stress for 45 mins. Hopefully they'll pull their socks up before next Saturday when I spend six hours round trip on a train for 90 mins of football.

Was great to hear the H&W fan joining in with YNWA. :)) It's what the FA cup is all about!

Is it me or is the run up for a penalty as practiced by Man ures one trick pony (he's not the real) Ronaldo against the laws of football. I thought you weren't allowed to stop during your run up. But then we are talking about a penalty taken at Old Stratford, and as all visiting teams know, different rules apply here, so as not to upset Fergusmoan.

Congrats Simon, and yes, we all love comedy goals!

Nothing about it in the rules Atila http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/affederation/federation/laws_of_the_game_0708_10565.pdf

And I may not like him any more than you do, but 25 goals already this season does rather speak for itself.

Here's to his move to Madrid this summer!

Apparently he does not stop he merely delays movement. So you can drastically alter the pace of your run-up as long as you do not stop entirely.

What a load of bo**ocks. Whatever happened to the Shearer/Unsworth/Pearce style penalty of running up and blasting it as hard as humanly possible.
