Keef
The only glimmer I can see is that Israel will want to beat Russia and will give them a game. However, even then we'd need to beat Croatia.I think I'd rather just start building properly for the next wold cup than go to another tournament, scrape through the groups and go out in the quarters. Jah Lush
We cocked it up against Moldova, Croatia and Russia. We've only got ourselves to blame. Roman Loadsamoney has got his fingers in both Israel and Russia. Which one do you thing he'd prefer to go through? Got to be Russia hasn't it? Jah Lush
I went to the Spurs match against the might of Blackpool last night. We have got a very very long way to go before we can have any sort of bragging rights over the Arse...unfortunately. atila the gooner
I dunno about you but unless your team has been through some bad times, and we certainly had some in the early and mid 80's with rubbish players, you can't really savour success when it comes. Also it makes, well in my case anyway, for a greater love for your club, don't you think? SimonM
>>SimonM - hope you are not too upset after your defeat last night.............<<How kind of you not to gloat (well not too much anyway!)Actually not that upset, because we lost to a fantastically talented team. Eduardo's first goal was astonishing; his second goal illustrated why United have shipped so many this season. To be only 1-0 nil down at halftime was something of a triumph/travesty. I think your "toddlers" would defeat 80% of the current premier teams and we'd probably have had a better chance against the "real" Arsenal first squad, ironically enough. It would be a major, and deserved, achievement I think if Wenger now wins his first Carling Cup with a side totally different to the one that currently looks best equipped to win the Premiership.. Keef
We've been waiting since the beginning of the 90's! class players like Fowler, Macca, and Redknapp were outweighed by some absolute toilet! Always liked Berger actually. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1210-football-focus/page/32/#findComment-52410 Share on other sites
atila the gooner
I always rated Berger, more so than Redknapp. He seemed far more athletic/graceful than 'arry's boy. Keef
Sean (and Anna for that matter), watching footy at home is sh!t. I have sat there before watching matches, and you have no one to argue with about decisions, or to slag off the ref with, or to hug when your team score in the last minute (and surely every Arsenal fan needs that). If you can't be at the game, football should be watched in the boozer! In fact, in a lot of ways I'd rather watch it at the boozer than see it live. atila the gooner
Not sure if I'm going to be at Ashburton Grove ( I hate calling it the Emirates) or with loads of mates in the T.
