SeanMacGabhann
OK - so today doesn't mean anything in terms of trophies - but I'll put it down as a good day at the office. If someone said Chelsea would drop points but Man U would get a predictable win I would have taken it - but for them both to drop two points?? Get inEverton were robbed mind you... And I feel sorry for Spurs with that last minute equaliser - still a creditable result - it's how we got a point against them after allWest Ham? The big teams yes bit the Wigans no??? citizenED
Re-arrange the words The, Of, Top and League to get a popular phrase. Get in there you Gunners! Keef
Typical Man U last gasp goal. Bastards.Pleased Everton dropped points, hopefully that'll be a regular thing. Annasfield
And Chavski too Keef - positive day for us!. Although we'll need to play a lot better than we did yesterday if we're to get any points at Stamford Bridge. :)) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1210-football-focus/page/75/#findComment-76717 Share on other sites
atila the gooner
Very pleasing weekend. Man Ure drop points as did CSKA Fulham, who were lucky to get a point at Pompey. The ref at Blackburn needs shafting for the appalling display he turned in. I still fancy Everton for fourth place, who would have won at a canter had the ref been half decent. How ironic that Spurs helped us back to the top of the league!! Jah Lush
Ahem! Yes we've done you a bit of a favour haven't we. It was amazing the amount of my Gooner friends were phoning and texting me to say Come On You Spurs on Saturday but if I had a pound for every time we have conceded a goal in the last minute over the years I would probably enough for a decent pension fund and would be considering early retirement. We are still improving slowly but surely as recent result have proved. The signing of Woodgate and Hutton is also a major boost. atila the gooner
Regrettably this is like you or I being fined 10p. They should be docked points just because it's them, and it would make old fergusmoan go purple with rage. I know his nose is already that colour!! SimonM
?25K to Manchester United? The rumour is that Ronaldo's new contract will be worth ?140K a week....which even by overinflated football standarda does somewhat take one's breath away... SimonM
I see Leeds United have now dropped out of the top 6. And for the first time since the start of the season, would not be topping their division if they had their 15 points penatly restored...SimonM (waving wooden spoon, like) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1210-football-focus/page/75/#findComment-77055 Share on other sites

atila the gooner
Ronaldo ?140k a week eh? Well at least they will only be paying it until may/june when he moves to Madrid. That'll be interesting as Ruud Van Horseface isn't overly keen on him, and if you believe him was part of the reason he left Man Ure. Jah Lush
Considering the likes of John Terry, Frank Lammpard, Michael Ballack and Andrei Shevchenko are on the same money at Chelsea I'd say it was money well spent. It's not like they can't afford it and he is after all a very special talent. citizenED
I heard on Five Live something that made my heart leap - Ledley King has only ever been booked once. Can anyone confirm this. He's a top class defender who has played for England. If it's the case, I, for one am mightily impressed. atila the gooner
The fact that he has been booked once is hardly cause for celebration, and probably means he needs to be more aggressive in his tackling. Most central defenders get booked, it's part and parcel of the position they play in. If you look at the records of the top central defenders over the years, Tony Adams, Sol Campbell, etc, you'll see what I mean. Jah Lush
That's nonsense. The reason Ledley King doesn't get booked is because of the timing of his tackles and his fantastic reading of the game. He is pure class and when fit is one of the best central defenders in the world. Even you're blessed Thierry Henry has gone on record saying that he is the best defender he's faced. atila the gooner
Thierry Henry is not blessed, hs has moved on. As for timimg of his tackeles and being one of the best in the world, sorry don't agree. I think he just doesn't put in enough work, or hasn't played enough to get himself booked more frequently. Jah Lush
That's your opinion and your entitled to it but obviously I disagree but then I'm biased. I take it Terry Henry's not blessed because he doesn't play for the Arsenal anymore.>:D Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1210-football-focus/page/75/#findComment-77228 Share on other sites
