Of course the really interesting domestic match in the offing is now Doncaster Rovers v Leeds United! Mind you the Sky commentator overdid things slightly this evening when comparing Rovers' play against Carlisle favourably to Barcelona..ahahaha>:D<

(And yes, he did mean the football club not the LL tapas bar :)))

Aye - Charity shield here we come - here's a fact. When we have played that game we will have played at Wembley more times than any other team apparently!!

I think we'll see a different Pompey run out at Wembley in August though! Lot's of players coming in over the summer I expect. For now though, I am going to enjoy this feeling. Was the third best day of me life yesterday - coming a close third to getting married and my son being born! Been supporting Pompey since before I can remember. Born and bread! I am fooking elated today!!!!! (and drunk again!)

Well done Ratty nice to congratulate a true fan of a proper club rather than one of the plastic big 4 supporters - true story, a few years ago when Arsenal were playing in one of the gazziliion Cup finals they've been in in the last 15 years I was out in Brighton at about 3.30 pm on Cup final day and there, with no shame, was a bloke wandering along the front leisurely hand in hand with his girlfriend with an Arsenal shirt on,,,,,,yup, i'd miss the cup final but wear my shirt to show what a great supporter I am. Plastic twats.

I pretty much agree quids! Best thing about this final was 2 sets of passionate fans. Cardiff lot were by & large a treat to meet even if they did not bring our clock back! (Stolen by them from Fratton in the 80s!)

Great day - wish I could have driven down to Pompey for the parade today but I have been over the limit for the last 48 hours!

Just seen this on the BBC sports website

Lassana Diarra has a gentleman's agreement with Portsmouth that he can quit Fratton Park if one of European football's big clubs come knocking. (Daily Mail, 1112 BST)

Kinda tells you why Chelsea & The Arsenal were keen to off load him. Obviously the man has an over-inflated view of his own worth.

Diarra came to Pompey so he could transfer to Spurs as Arsenal would not sell him their directly - this was agreed as part of the Defoe deal. However, Spurs have to renogotiate a price. Lassina will be worth a small fortune after Euro 2008 compared to the price that PFC bought him. Shame cos I would love him to stay but I do not think Uefa will be enough to keep him playing at Fratton Park.

Watch out for Niko at Euro 2008 too. Arsenal are gonna waste ?12m on him so I have been told.

Ratty - rolling with the 6.57 for one last time!

Lubos Michel, who ruled Luis Garcia's effort had crossed the line when Liverpool knocked Chelsea out of the Champions League before winning it in 2005, will referee the game in Moscow. He has since said of the Jose Mourinho-dubbed 'ghost goal': "If my assistant referee had not signalled a goal, I would have given a penalty and sent off keeper Petr Cech." (The Daily Telegraph)

Have that Jose! >:D<

Wonder how much Ferguson bunged UEFA, so he would ref this game. ;-)

That is a point everyone has always been very quick to forget about that goal incident, we could have ended up a man and a goal up!

Anyway, biggest concern has to be the pitch, heard the "super groundsman" on the radio this morning and he said it will be playable, but he is disgusted about the state of it! Think it'll suit Chelsea more.

I said exactly the same thing. I'll bet his 6 month sentence actually means 3 and he'll be back playing again in August.

If you were a non plastic fan you'd be on your way to Moscow right now. ;-)

I just hope it will be a high scoring game (which it probably won't) and an entertaining game (I've said this before haven't I). I certainly wouldn't want a repeat of last year's FA Cup final which was so boring I nearly died of boredom before Drogba scored with close range toe poke in the dying minutes. Again, I don't really care who wins but I am going to be watching the game in the pub with a couple of friends one of which is a long time Chelsea fan, i.e he supported them when they were pants.

Fair enough Sandperson - extenuating circumstances and all that....

This is another reason why I never want to have kids.

I reckon it will be the dullest game in history, which is why I intend to go to the pub and get rat arsed. Work are taking us out and I intend to take full advantage of the free booze. :)-D (Drown my sorrows)

In an ideal world, I would have just taken off from Warsaw on the last part of my journey to Moscow. Boo hoo :(

    • Chiming in to recommend the Canacabins team, who did a beautiful job completely rebuilding a well-loved (but falling down) shed into a new garden office. While they were at it, they also constructed a new pond surround, deck, railing, and patched up our decrepit fence, all to a high standard. A friendly team and very happy with the end result!
    • There isn’t a map for the Go Jauntly walk - I added that.  I plan to update it now the weather is getting warmer but haven’t yet. Part of the reason for adding it was that I couldn’t find a map.    Not going to help but Dulwich Festival will be doing a walk so might be worth asking them.
    • An idea if you are looking for something to do. I’ve visited and have just come across this again.    Vauxhall City Farm is a farm in London where we can see the animals the packaged meat in the supermarket comes from. Entrance is free, a donation of £4 is requested   Looking for a present you can adopt an animal - support the farm and the person you gift it to will get 3 lots of food to feed on visits.    The 50th Anniversary Appeal is currently running so they can do the farm up and hopefully give the animals a home and people the chance to see them for another 50 years. If you want to donate here’s the link    https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/growthenext50years
