also heard this rumour and that M&S want it for a small branch....seems a shame with increasing amount of gun hold ups around the area (video shop yesterday, Willow a couple of months ago....)

From what I have heard it is more than likely going to go as unaffordable housing. And since I live right by it.... I'd rather that than TS, M&S or a Petrol Station! Fingers (and everything else) crossed.

dont know what they would get rid of the cop shop from an area like brixton?

Makes you think what the govt do with all that money?And the millions generated from speed cameras etc

If the main building does have ferro-concrete decay then conversion is unlikely to be an option.

The main building has also been beaten repeatedly by the ugly stick I reckon.

East Dulwich could do without the huge police station. It could be replaced by a smaller, user-friendly one. Community Wardens could be based there too. A police station ought to be a place that members of the community feel belongs to them.

Places like Brixton and Camberwell obviously have greater need for larger, well manned stations. The idea that those ones are on the list seems odd.
