Ratti
On Lordship Lane, I have cold water but no hot. Nothing at all from the hot taps. Thames water told me a couple of hours ago that they are waiting for a tanker to deliver water to increase the pressure. IlonaM
I have cold water in a relatively splutter-y flow on the ground floor at the bottom of Underhill Rd. Been filling up saucepans and the cistern in case it stops again!!! Lowlander
Quick summary:We spoke to Thames Water at 0800, 1000, 1730, 2130All times very helpful with loads of information not on the website.Website has been showing that situation will be resolved within 1-2 hours since 1700ishIt's now 22.10 and no water (top end Lordship Lane/Upland Road junction).>12 hour delay we're entitled to ?30 compensation. Appreciate that things are worse elsewhere, but London is supposed to be a world class city comparable to New York and Singapore... Siduhe
After 6 hours without water, Thames are supposed to make supplies available - bottles, standpipes etc. After making that point on the phone just now I was put through to a supervisor who said she had no idea when the water would be fully back on as they still didn't have a repair crew available on site and that they didn't have the ability to put alternative supplies in place on a Bank Holiday which is why none have been offered. So full marks for honesty but makes me wonder what on earth all the other people at TW we've been speaking to thought was going on all day. East Dulwich Angst
There was enough pressure to start filling the tank in the loft about an hour or so ago. That's the top end of Upland Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/120554-no-water-yesterdaylow-water-pressure-this-morning-underhill-rd/page/3/#findComment-1040511 Share on other sites
muffins78
Can't believe the number of stories going about from them - I hung after another half hour waiting! They have special provisions for those who are disabled apparently - I forget what, but when it happened before they were super helpful, but not this time!Hopefully there will be something by morning :S Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/120554-no-water-yesterdaylow-water-pressure-this-morning-underhill-rd/page/3/#findComment-1040516 Share on other sites

Am very glad to have been away this weekend but had been looking forward to shower on my return which now ain't happening! IlonaM
Don't worry Applespider - only 2 saucepans. As someone who is disabled and has not had much to drink all day I would like to be prepared. It isn't as though I filled a bath up - I don't have one! Pugwash
No hot water till about 4.30 as insufficient pressure but now OK. Hopefully it does not go off again as need to have a shower and hair wash before I go to work tomorrow. Siduhe
Judging from the banging pipes, we got our water back around 5am. We have good hot and cold pressure, but I did need to top up the pressure in the hot water system first. Applespider
There is a large stash of bottled water on the pavement at the junction of Wood Vale and London Road. Must have arrived after 8pm last night but if anyone still has no water, it is now there. Penguin68
You ought to get this checked, it is possible that the cold water feed into your tank has been compromised by grit (can get into burst water mains) - contact Thames Water - it is the sort of thing they are obliged to help with. If you have a system where hot water from your boiler circulates into your hot water tank to heat the water being fed into it than it will be getting hot without anything to heat up - and this might not be good! Siduhe
BarefootTennis Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------Wondering if my hot water tank has no pressure. It depends on your set up. We have a combi boiler and when the water pressure drops it's necessary to top up the pressure in the hot water system before hot water will come out, using the filling loop. Decent general instructions on how to do this here (except my filling loop isn't copper - it looks like this - http://www.screwfix.com/p/combi-straight-filling-loop/46605?kpid=46605&cm_mmc)http://www.baxi.co.uk/information-and-advice/heating-advice/water-pressure-hints-and-tips.htm Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/120554-no-water-yesterdaylow-water-pressure-this-morning-underhill-rd/page/3/#findComment-1040784 Share on other sites

Bic Basher
I had an air lock in my pipes which is common after a long time of the water being switched off, which leads to a trickle of water in the hot taps. As a council tenant, Mears plumbers came round to fix it and the engineer said they've spent the week resolving the issue in council properties across ED. wonderwoman
Yes here at Friern road affected too. Checked with Thames water online there appears to be related to 3 incidents on Upland road which are being repaired. indiepanda
Hello, is anyone else in the area still having water pressure issues? My boiler has been shutting down due to low pressure and wondering if it might be related or if it's something specific to my house the radiators needing to be bleed Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/120554-no-water-yesterdaylow-water-pressure-this-morning-underhill-rd/page/3/#findComment-1053087 Share on other sites
KidKruger
Wouldn't expect it to be because radiators need bleeding.
