SE23 Whisky Club

Recommended Posts

We started the club in Jan 2015.

The purpose was to have a local club, so we don't end up traveling into central London all the time.

We've had 38 meeting so far and around 50 members, we get between 10-15 people in.

The club is run for non profit , and tastings are priced per cost.

We have people from a variety of backgrounds, some whisky geeks and some not so geeky people that have only recently started their whisky journey :)

We meet every two weeks on a Tuesday night , in a private room called the Whisky Room in a gastro pub in South London called The Honor Oak

We do a mix of tastings, bring your own bottles and invite ambassadors from the industry.

So far we've been visited by the following brands.

Glenlivet

Chivas The Art of Blending

Glenfiddich

Compass Box

Butiquey whisky company

Bruichladdich

Wemyss

Yamazaki

We conduct most of the club business on the Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/groups/se23whiskyclub/

The club also has a twitter account @se23whiskyclub

If you would like to come please join the group on FB or just send me a message.

Regards

Nick

    • The Post Offices and the Royal Mail should be renationalised. Massive mistake privatising industries where competition doesn't work properly and certainly does not offer any advantage to end users.
    • The Friends of the Charter School East Dulwich is selling trees to raise funds for the school. I've had one for the last two years and they've been great (lasting well, too).  You can order here - all pofots goes to the school https://www.pta-events.co.uk/fotcsed/   Edited to add: orders close 02 Dec for pickup 07 Dec
    • Labours head of communications really should be advising Kier better.  We've had, so far, the budget will be bad, we've inherited a 20 billion black hole, the NHS is broken, and today "Britain isn't working" in relation to jobs and apprenticeships  Whilst honesty is a good thing, there are better ways of wording things Negativity drives negativity in situations like this, especially in business and businesses are what labour requires to grow the economy and offer jobs to the unemployed.  It does feel like Captain Kier has turned into Private Frazer crying  "we're all doomed"
