newsummer
Hi,I moved in ED since April and i absolutely love the area...but why is there no gay place around? is there anything planned to get a proper gay place, like a pub or a club. Clapham or even Lewisham got their gay clubs, why not east dulwich?! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1196-gay-club-pub-bar-in-ed/ Share on other sites

SeanMacGabhann
Hi new summer. This one has been discussed already. With mixed opinions it has to be said. But if you pop to the lounge you will see a thread about arranging some gay evening drinks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1196-gay-club-pub-bar-in-ed/#findComment-31211 Share on other sites

Louisa
Why are so many people hung up on the idea of a gay bar, why not just mix in any pub and if you fancy someone approach them in there, whats the worst that can happen? Surely being gay has come a long way since the days of seedy hangouts in soho? Good grief.. Brendan
Precisely. If there is a market for it why not. Plenty of places in ED are in some way aimed at a specific group in the community. newsummer
thanks for all these comments. but it seems that there is not much around. Justo ne comment for Louisa. I wouldn't ave any problem to have a gay bar/pub or club in ED which is opened to anyone, straight or gay, black or white. i don't care at all. But i found the tolerance much higher in a gay club towards straight people than in a straight club towards gay people...anyway i think going to Clapham is the only way. mikese22
you could try the 'gay drinks' at the Rye next Monday - see the thread in the Lounge Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1196-gay-club-pub-bar-in-ed/#findComment-31425 Share on other sites
Jah Lush
Alternatively you could try The Mansion in Gipsy Hill, by the roundabout, which is very gay friendly and I beleive run by the same people who own the Rye Hotel.
