cella
HELP! Can't believe I've splashed dark hair dye on my white leather sofa and then, almost immediately, pink nail varnish on the rug under the sofa. Any top tips to remove/lessen the stains? I haven't tried anything yet in case it makes it worse. Grr! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/119086-help-stain-removal/ Share on other sites
IlonaM
https://www.goodhousekeeping.co.uk/institute/household-advice?a=7902Has advice on nail polish stains. Maybe a google of how to remove a hair dye stain from leather will produce results. Good luck. cella
Such a useful site - brilliant. Sadly the rug stain is here to stay so I've just moved it around and put something over it! Some of the sofa stain came out with nail varnish remover so now I'm just resigned to living with what's left. Thanks for your help. Gaynor Hill
Hair spray does the job on anything but sadly you need to do it straight away ex hairdresser we used it all the timeI have leather sofas and use saddle soap check on Google and they might have a stain remover as well Good luck Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/119086-help-stain-removal/#findComment-1036157 Share on other sites
Robert Poste's Child
As your sofa is white leather, rather than a colour, would it be worth trying a few drops of hydrogen peroxide on a tiny part of the stain to see if it can take the dye out? If it does and you're left with an off-white stain, you could try a bit of a platinum blonde hair dye, again in a tiny area first.
