Alan Dale
If you're heading for the Lido tomorrow get there before 12 - it'll be locked in at capacity by 1.30pm.Take plenty of Redstripe and listen out for the humorous announcements ' Attention, attention and that means now!"Remember ladies- if you are going to go topless then you should sit at the Brixton end.See you there! Alan Dale
It's just the etiquette that I have observed in the past. It's the cool end. It's where you should go if you want to smoke spliff too... Alan Dale
The subversive element is very low key. It's actually a very family friendly environment. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1190-brockwell-lido/#findComment-31107 Share on other sites

Strange timings for an open air pool over a weekend in the summer Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1190-brockwell-lido/#findComment-31129 Share on other sites
Jah Lush
I shall be going topless with a big spliff in my gob down the Brixton end at some point during the summer. Thanks for the tip Alan. EDDW
Was there today. No topless women nor a spliff in sight. Big crowds - there was some queuing at around midday. Cafe v. good, excellent carrot cake and portugese custard tarts. Huge variety of languages - most of which I failed to recognise, but they seemed to be mostly Eastern European. Water warm (for Britain). Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1190-brockwell-lido/#findComment-31161 Share on other sites
Alan Dale
Seems the smoking ban has limited the entertainment. Went yesterday and also noted the lack of exposed cans and weed, although the missus said she caught a sniff. Definitely less prominent but then the baby necessitates us sitting at the Herne Hill end...Nevertheless, it's definitely the best outdoor pool in Greater East Dulwich. Bleep
I've heard that it opens at 6:45 am and if you go early, it's only ?2.60 or something to swim. Might try it on the way to work. tiddles
its fantastic but very expensive - I suppose the admission is based upon you staying all day, however it was about ?11 for me and 2 kids yesterday! Very nice loos too Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1190-brockwell-lido/#findComment-31480 Share on other sites
JoeChuff
yep if you're just going to knock out a few lengths, it might not be worth it - but if you compare it to other leisure activities like going to the cinema etc, ?5.20 is not too bad.i was pleased that after all of the refurbishment, which looks quite pricey, the entry fee only went up 20p.
