curlykaren
littlecurly has got a mild bout of measles after his MMR jab, the rash wasn't too bad a couple of days ago but the heat seems to have made it much worse and quite horrible under the nappy area. Any tips for something to put on his skin? Hes not eating much either, what can I feed a 17 month old that he simply can't resist? Belle
hi ck, we had exactly the same thing ater mmr jab - i found mine drank water by the gallon when give the opportunity which seemed to help both temperature and rash, certainly cooled him down. We also used aveeno cream on him (which we use for eczema anyway) - which is nice and cooling - you can get it at the chemist, it's in a green/beige tube. in terms of food, my son also went right off his - think we did a lot of those ella's smoothies (the little fruit pouches, not the veg purees which he also off), yoghurt and bananas/soft fruit. curlykaren
hi belle, can I ask was it after the first injection or second that the reaction happened? If it was the first did you still need to have the second jab? Had some success feeding him chilled fruit smootie pouches, thanks x Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/11890-measles-due-to-mmr/#findComment-334506 Share on other sites
Belle
After the first - and yep, had the second - no reaction this time. The reaction to the first the gp said was unusually severe. Gd news re the smoothies! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/11890-measles-due-to-mmr/#findComment-334582 Share on other sites
