Recommendation for awkward furniture removal

I had a dilemma. I've recently purchased a new sofa and have sold my old one to a friend.

I was tight getting the old sofa in (the arms come off) but we managed it. My friend booked a man with a van to collect it and they spent best part of 3.5 hours today trying to get it down my staircase with no luck.

I thought we were going to have to chop it up to get it out. My friend found a really lovely chap called Paul and he managed to get it out in 10 minutes.

I cannot recommend him enough. His business is AU Upholstery

Not only does he make furniture, but he specialises in getting large furniture in/out of properties by dismantling and re-building it. I was expecting him to have to do this with the sofa, but he got it out.

    • The key thing to stress is that everything they want to do is just a PROPOSAL at the moment, and the important thing is for everyone who objects to take part in the consultation and hopefully force the council to accept what a ridiculous & unacceptable proposition it is!  The consultation ends on 10th Feb - http://www.southwark.gov.uk/Gala2025
    • What I meant was, it may not be worth your while if you have to pay someone to do it, unless they are very expensive clothes. Are you going to ask them to take the pix as well?
    • I just wanted to recommend Aria. He was recommended by friends and we were very happy the work he has done in our bathroom. He’s friendly and reliable and goes out of his way to be helpful. He also advises you on how to keep costs down without sacrificing quality. His number is:+44 7739 734895
