Penguin68
I have done so, but in another town. Some private home care companies will offer per diem arrangements. Often to cover a regular carer's abscence. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/118135-hire-a-carer-for-a-day/#findComment-1033247 Share on other sites

edanna
If you were over 60 you may get support from Dulwich Helpline but assuming you're not maybe you could ask for a volunteer on here, specifying the date etc. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/118135-hire-a-carer-for-a-day/#findComment-1033283 Share on other sites
kittysailing
hi there I know a wonderful woman who runs a compnany called ' an extra pair of hands'. She is just that - whether it be de-cluttering, childcare, gardening relative visits, walking the dog - she is lovely and very reliable and has worked with people who are ill and need help. I'm sure your request would fall within her remit. Her website is www.anextrapairofhands.co.uk and shes on 07930 495895 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/118135-hire-a-carer-for-a-day/#findComment-1033332 Share on other sites

Pugwash
Agencies generally do not let staff pick people up from hospital and not all carers have cars. When I had surgery my husband just called a cab company to pick me up from Kings.Would you qualify for hospital transport home?
