and nanny tax quotes directly from the hmrc site. but if childminders can be self employed ..why not rename your nany a childminder? Or is it that a chidminder becomes a nanny if she/he's working in your home. Look i'm just interested that's all as i know teacher's can be considered self-employed if they are doing supply work.

A childminder works for several families, uses their own home and has various expenses to offset such as cost of the premises etc.


Teachers cannot be considered self employed.


I have responsibility for this whole area (in a school!) and have had several very brusing experiences recently with HMRC who are incredibly strict.
