Borrow a Shredder?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've got an approx 6 inch stack of documents I need to get rid off after digitising the lot. Would anyone out there have a shredder I could borrow for a week or so? Aware that lots need a bit of a cool down after a few minutes of shredding, so hopefully a week would allow me to get the lot done - thanks in the form of wine and/or beer.

Alternatively, anyone got one they're looking too sell?

Thanks,

Simon

Thanks for the response tomdhu. I will be picking one up, however I'm a bit limited for space so was hoping to borrow a slightly more robust one to help get through the pile before picking up a compact model for day to day use. If I have no luck on that front, I guess I'll be resorting to slowly working through it over a week or so!

    • As posted elsewhere Jojm is a superb plasterer, highly experienced and very good. And will either just get on with the job or, if you wish, have a good chat with you - he's a Dubliner so very friendly! I have either used him directly (once, for a biggish job, a couple of rooms, insulated plaster boards and finishing) and twice for neighbouring landlord where I arranged and saw his work completed expertly and efficiently. Recommended. He loves dogs too. If relevant...

    • How about we go straight to the source then if you think it's questionable: Here's Unite Group's annual report: https://www.unitegroup.com/annual-report-and-accounts-2024 Download the PDF and you'll find the 97.5% occupancy rate. You know a lot of these news sources exist because digging through annual reports is laborious and not immediately accessible to the masses. They're reporting on what Unite Group, a public company, is reporting. It's making something more digestible. They're not just making up numbers. They'd end up without much business if they were. PBSA is a big industry. Here's another take (though a year older) from Cushman and Wakefield: https://www.cushmanwakefield.com/en/united-kingdom/insights/uk-student-accommodation-report  Like CBRE, they're also reporting supply shortages. Again, to be occupied by students.
