Louisa
Brendan, glad to hear you guys have been tamed, shame you cant make a decent lager though ;-) (Castle lager is it?), along with the Aussies and Americans. (and dont let us get confusing BEER with the chemical infused fizzy rubbish lager either!) yesyesrichyboy
Not quite East Dulwich or Peckham Rye but in Ruskin Park, there are sometimes Portugues families who bring their own barbeque/food/entertainment.Smells great to a hungry jogger! mightyroar
Today some people got told off for having a bbq in peckham rye park in the picnic area. they moved on. when the BBQ was cool enough to pick up Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1177-bbqs-in-peckham-rye-park/page/2/#findComment-31207 Share on other sites
Louisa
Too right! It's a picnic area not a place to cook up a hot meal over open flames, especially when there might be kids around! I'd have hosed them down if they had refused to leave (if I were the park keeper). Brendan
I must apologise for any colonial disdain for British bbqing ability I may have displayed in this thread. We went to friends for one on Saturday night and our Croydon born and bred host put on a very impressive spread indeed. Not a sausage or burger in sight and no flames to cremate them over. Keef
I have to stick up for sausages on BBQ's, I love them in bread with ketchup! Burgers however are not so good! Lamb, now that is the best!!!! Oh and chicken.... and ribs!!!!Which reminds me, my sister bought some lovely "ribs" for a bbq yesterday. Rigs off the bone, they were lovely, and you actually had some meat to eat, but still, ribs off the bone, something is very wrong there! :-S Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/1177-bbqs-in-peckham-rye-park/page/2/#findComment-31308 Share on other sites
Brendan
Oh I?m not against sausages at all! I was just illustrating a point to prove my own prejudice. Rib-less ribs you say? Sound a bit GM to me. ChavWivaLawDegree
Louisa haven't you ever tasted jerk chicken, or jerk pork? It's the ultimate BBQ fare and tastes gorgeous. If you need educating on the delights of BBQ check out the Jerk cookout this Sunday at the Horniman.
