Adobe drives me nuts

I had a new hard drive put in my laptop because the other broke, but I have downloaded Adobe reader and can't see any adobe web pages. It keeps coming up with a stupid error message saying that I can't see web based pdf's.

I usually use Firefox for the web, but this also happens when I try in Explorer. What can I do to sort this irritating thing out?

Uninstall and reinstall Reader would be my first move. Can you post the message verbatim?

it could be that PDF files are not associated with the PDF reader

Foxit reader is much faster, and much lighter I find.
