Bumpkin
There's a bus from Victoria station which takes you very close - can't remember which one, but something like 310? If you go out to the road running to the left of the station (from looking out at the taxi rank), you'll find it. plimsoul
if you want to tube it step free (bar the last few steps at south ken, where i have always got help with no problem) go to london bridge, take the lift down to jubilee line and change at westminster to district line, again all lifts. i did this with twins for past 2 years and have gone from double buggy to no buggy. westminster can be a bit much as you have to swap lifts but otherwise i had no problems. bizzylizzy
There's a bus from Camberwell that goes to South Kensington. I think it is the 436. It starts in Peckham if that's easier. echo
I'm pretty sure it's the 345 which goes to South Ken from Peckham/Camberwell not the 436.. I always find it is relatively easy and quick to go to places, but the rush hour coming back makes the journey much harder- as the bus is full of buggies or lots of commuters.. hpsaucey
HI there. I work there AND have kiddies I take there so have done this a fair bit. Train to Victoria and then 52 (which stops just up the road near Hyde Park) is quick. Step free if you go from ED and change at Peckham Rye from Platform 2 to 1 for the Victoria train. Yes the 345 goes from Peckham to South Ken but boy, it can take ages as it goes via Battersea and Clapham! Ditto, I think the one you're talking about which stops REALLY near - i.e. opposite is the 360 which goes to Elephant and Castle. Again, this goes all round the houses. OK if you've got plenty of time but not if its rush hour or you;ve got antsy kids. Another points. I'm guessing you're thinking of going in half term. It can be NIGHTMARISHLY BUSY!!!! If you can, get there for opening at ten, stay a couple of hours and then either get out of there FAST and find somewhere for lunch, or go to the less busy galleries on the upper floors - although as they're the medical galleries they're not always for the squeamish.Good luck, Helen Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/11589-easiest-route-to-the-science-museum/#findComment-328861 Share on other sites
