matthew123
I want to brick up a back window and maybe replace it with a small slot window plus 1 or 2 extractor fans to still allow light into a room that I want to convert into a bathroom.Do I need approval from council for this kind of work? KidKruger
I don't think you'll need permission to brick up the window and replace with a smaller window and vents, but suggest you check your rights re perpetuation of the entitlement to a window there in case after years you decide to open it up and someone nearby considers it an intrusion on their privacy. womanofdulwich
i think you need to check if you are a listed building or a conservation area with your local planning authority and if you are a leasehold flat read the lease to see if you need landlords consent. brum
If you live in a flat conversion with a share in the freehold title with the other owner(s), you may need their permission as your work will affect the building exterior. Check the lease.
