tomskip
Very sorry to report that one of my neighbours witnessed a black and white cat being run over on Upland Road this afternoon. The driver did not stop! Another neighbour has covered the cat's body with a sheet and it is on the road just outside number 347. What should we do now? Jules-and-Boo
Not very nice. Nothing you can do. Not a police related concern. The council will need to be told to move the body and look out for 'missing' signs and give them a call to let them know. edcam
The kind thing to do is to take it to a vet so that they can see if the cat is microchipped and contact the owners. Failing that, call the council, who will remove it but there's no guarantee that they'll check for a chip. I believe they are supposed to but gather that they don't always do it and then the poor owners will never know what happened. kiera
The poor cat probably came from a nearby house, so you could knock on a few doors to see if someone knows which house it has come from. tomskip
Just to add that the cat's owner has been found. She is obviously very upset. It's such a terrible shame, it was a lovely young cat. I can't help but think if some selfish drivers didn't speed up Upland Road they would be able to stop for a cat!
