Hello

I recently graduated with a 2:1 in an Animal behaviour and welfare degree. Since the end of my course I have been subjecting myself to the hell that is 0 hours contracts with catering and hospitality companies, while engaging in an ongoing quest for an actual real life paying job that involved interracting with animals. Alas, there seems to be few around that I am not either overqualified for and voluntary or under-qualified for.

As much as I love animals after spending 16 years of my life and ?27,000 to get to this point, I would sure love to be paid at least minimum wage.

The use of the Dulwich forum is a long shot but I never underestimate the value of a grape-vine. Does anyone know of any jobs going involved in any sector of animal care or husbandry, no matter the pay. I do not have a car but do have an oyster card and an insatiable desire to be doing something with my life.

I am not picky.

dog-grooming, training companies or individuals I could gain experience with, rescue centres, cleaning up crap in kennels, work with wildlife, carrying around your dog strapped to my body like a baby etc.

All the best

Rosie B

    • To be fair, anyone wearing a hard hard & tool belt after 8 pm is either seven Stellas into a post-site session or a member of a Village People tribute band. Neither is particularly appealing. The hat/hood thing is pretty commonplace in loads of places now, not just Bromley - it's for CCTV. They've had a few problems in there in the past, you can see why they've had to make some changes.  Strangely enough, curing the gents of the pong probably won't have helped. You could barely go in there without holding your breath, let alone take a great, big nasal draught of something.

    • In a fantasy world , Musk will shoot Trump in Texas whilst testing a new hyper velocity rifle, and the bullet will move so fast it will hit Vance seconds after.  Texas still has the death penalty, especially for presidential assassins!  I wonder what odds Ladbrooks give on that 🤔
    • It is a bit provincial.  I assume it is a way to keep out groups who have caused trouble in the past if they need to?  I doubt middle aged ladies turning up in trainers and a hoodie are going to be turned away. You do sometimes see those signs in central London pubs, usually on football derby days or ones near construction sites.    On the latter I am not sure if builders are particularltly badly behaved in pubs or if they think their more middle class clientele would be offended by the sight of a load of blokes in work boots and plaster spattered trousers.
