madmum
HIIm looking to take my 2 little men(4 and 17 months)and 1 big man(maddad) awayfor a short break over the school hols..so just wondering if you guys have any great suggestions? I have looked at the usual suspects Haven., Butlins, centreparcs but to be honest they seem so expensive just to stay in a caravan. Perhaps somewhere in France???? Really stummped and desperate to get away...change of scenery...kids to run free...quailty time without me nagging about house work and other tedious things...thats all im after,,,,Look forward to your replies,Much lovefrom a mum in need xxx Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/11290-short-break-with-the-kids-in-uk-advice/ Share on other sites
bawdy-nan
I've recently been going away with the kids to youth hostels - really good value and much more chilled than a hotel. some better set up for very little ones (toddlers) than others. family rooms (and rates) available, some have baby equipment, many do food (or you can cook your own). Most also now have a bar! Check out their website but I'd recommend calling up to book asvthe call centre staff really helpful at helping you get what you need. millie42
Hello there. We often stay in France using holiday-rentals.co.uk. Its a really great site for second home owners so the houses are really lovely and really reasonably priced. For a short hop we have often stayed near Le Touquet in Northern France which has been perfect while my children are really small as its about 40 mins drive from the EuroTunnel. Great beeches and bays and a real old fashioned seatside holiday! Here is a link to the house we stayed in last time. http://www.holiday-rentals.co.uk/p412373I would recommend taking a look at the site as there are some really beautiful properties.Good luck Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/11290-short-break-with-the-kids-in-uk-advice/#findComment-323354 Share on other sites
curlykaren
If you book 21 days in advance and online then a family room at premier inn is ?29. There are loads all over uk so find one near to some things you would like to do and use it as a base for some lovely uk days out! womanofdulwich
Youth hostels are cheap and you can have all you meals cooked for you if you like- great for meeting new people and 4 year old- but you might find that the 17 month old needed watching a lot. Do you have to go in school holidays? I have a friend that always took he dad and sons to haven holidays for 4 days as lots of entertainment. We have camped at Kelling Heath in North Norfolk which had some really nice holiday chalets but lots of parks, walks, swimming pool and nature walks. ceebeebee
I've got a holiday cottage in Rye, East sussex which is bril for kids. Its right in the town so everything is on your doorstep, but the surrounding area is full of children's farms, steam railways, cycle tracks, castles, and of course the stunning beach! We are pretty light on bookings this year, so if anyone's interested for June or July, make me an offer. We have many returning families with kids, and its a really lovely house, complete with many toys. Here's a link to the site.Rye Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/11290-short-break-with-the-kids-in-uk-advice/#findComment-324222 Share on other sites
