I've just gone past it. It's a proper burst. Junction of Lordship Land and Overhill Road, on Lordship Lane, the road has broken up in big sections on one lane and a flood of water heading down the hill. Temporary lights in place and lots of Thames Water vans. Traffic looks terrible. Avoid if you can.

Thames Water update :-

SE22 - Lordship Lane

No water & low pressure

Message last updated: Monday 27 June 2016 - 15.21PM.

We apologise to customers in the SE22 postal code area who may be experiencing no water or low pressure.

This is due to a burst water main on Lordship Lane. Our technicians are onsite working hard to restore supplies as quickly as possible.

Road traffic managment is in place and some delays are expected.

We're sorry for any inconvenience caused.

This message will be updated once more information becaomes available.

    • Seems to be back on now although pressure reduced especially for hot water via boiler. Hopefully I can have a shower in the morning.
    • It’s far too hot. Dogs should not be out and you’re right to post this.
    • Agree that you have to be so careful dogs in this heat… but please dont judge so quickly.  Its one thing if you see a dog at midday being thrown the ball endlessly, but if you see a dog en route / somewhere - You dont know if that dog was being walked to the vet for an emergency appointment.. or taken to a friend’s house that is cooler etc.  And if they live in a flat, they might desperately need to be taken out for a quick pee / poo !
    • I know,  absolutely crazy.  A dog has never died because it didn't have a walk, but dogs do die if walked in this heat. Perhaps the owners should put on a thick fur coat, take their shoes off and jog round the pavements, and see how that feels! 🤬
