Agreed, thought it'squite hard to explain this feeling. And applying for citizenship is not exactly cheap either!

Blooming heck I only just looked at the fees for citizenship.

It is much cheaper to renounce your British citizenship, I see. Part of me would quite like to press that button right now.

I really, really don't want to lose my EU citizenship, which I will need if my ex has to move back to Europe with his job, or the children all "migrate" back to his country of birth when they are grown.

It makes me so sad and angry. We were told that we were European, growing up - told to tear down borders. And we did. Some of us committed to making the idea of the "European family" the reality of our lives.

All remainers and all Regrexiteers and all people appalled by the disintegration of our political life should join the lib Dems, who absolutely cannot be blamed and are the only parliamentary party (bar Snp) unified in a commitment to stay.

I have always left politics to other people. Now I really feel I can't.

Exactly. They talk like people are chips. It's Thatcher all over again.

But then May has a strong record of heartlessness when it comes to migrants.

It's like a race to the bottom in the Tory party at the moment. Who can be the shi\\iest sh/t of all.

    • Absolutely, another coalition was nailed on with the bookies, three big factors, Tories playing it very cute with constituents in marginal seats, LDs being punished for tuition fees and not pushing Tories harder, and Milliband's public persona in particular the right wing media.  irrespective of unnecessary austerity the country would have been in a better place if there had been another coalition.
    • I have heard a few times that Cameron thought there was going to be another coalition government and he needed some policies that he could easily throw away in bargaining with the Liberal Democrats. So he proposed the referendum planning to bargain it away after the election. Then he won and was stuck with it. Maybe that was stupid ๐Ÿ™‚
