Can't see it opening in July.

When the kids from Heber interviewed the builders in December 2015, they were told the build was expected to take 44 weeks and should be finished in July 2016. Andrew Wicks of Southwark planning was also interviewed and said that with store fitting, they were expecting the new store to open before Christmas 2016.

M&S still aren't recruiting, though Dulwich is now listed on the M&S website as a new store opening.

Mick.. I've said this before. but when I moved here in 1980 from Peckham people would ask where have you moved to.

I would say Dulwich and they would reply.. No. You live in EAST Dulwich NOT Dulwich..

Now.. People say.. Do you live in EAST Dulwich ?

I just say.. I live in EAST Dulwich.. BUT I was Born in PECKHAM..

When I moved to East Dulwich people tried to tell me I had moved to Peckham. No shame in that now, it's all cool.

I think East Dulwich is no longer the poor relation of Dulwich, such that when people hear Dulwich, they maybe think of East Dulwich.... the popular part.

Or perhaps the stores are effectively merging the two areas into one. Let's face it no one has a Dulwich store anyway, there is no street... so LL is I guess Dulwich's main shopping area.

I think you are right-- they are marketing to the wider area and loads of Dulwich Village people hang out on LL. There isn;t the same price difference there used to be between the areas either when looking at equal sized properties so its much of a muchness now I suppose.

I've always thought that Dulwich was the whole area protected by the Dulwich College Estate rules and regulations as regards buildings and development. Unfortunately, East Dulwich is not protected by any such rules so there are carbuncles (you may call them extensions...) appearing all over the Victorian houses.

I started a thread on EV recommendations but got no interest apart from some silly comments.  Perhaps some of you have a Tesla and think differently. My dislike pre dates Trump becoming a fanatic.
