neilson99
Hi - I'm looking at buying an electric plug in hybrid for my next car. I wondered whether anyone has experience of this through Southwark Council, what the process is and costs - I've heard you need planning permission to get one? DadOf4
I'm thinking the same - would love any advice. Our current closest charging point is about 1/2 mile away, so not really practical. We dont have off street parking so an additional charging point would be the only thing that would make it practical for us Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/111455-electric-vehicle-charge-point/#findComment-1012788 Share on other sites

mynamehere
Ask your councillor(s) for a recharge station. Maybe you live near each other and can share! Get the car. Could you do a lead from your house front to the street when you need to charge? The list you have is not up-to-date, there are more than that. Get someone on the phone. A charge point on your house front is subsidised ask your car agent for details and installers. You'll have to upgrade to 100amps if you're not there already Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/111455-electric-vehicle-charge-point/#findComment-1012862 Share on other sites
Jeremy
Would love a plug-in hybrid in theory, but without off-street parking I'm not sure if there'd be any point. Even if you get a kerbside charging point installed, you can't guarantee you'll be able to park there!A cable stretching across the pavement from your front yard to the car is a huge safety risk, surely a non-starter.
