Hmmm, well I know that a friend of a friend is over on Waveney Avenue - that road off Peckham Rye, near where the entrance to the car park is got a place, and that is quite a distance away - so if you were in Ivydale, or any of the roads off Ivydale I'd say you'd be fine, as things stand right now.....

Come on over to Nunhead, life's good here, the sun is shining and the water is warm LOL!!!

:))

Hi I'm a bit confused about the crow flying and/or distance from the school gate. We like St Johns and St Clements school and we live on Keston Road directly behind it, as the crow flies it is about 15m (if that) from the back of the playground to our house, but from the school gate we have to go all the way round the top via Gillespie (?) Road or via Adys and then Amott Road, several more meters added.

Being really thick but is it number of meters to your own front door? or just to the start of the Road?

Does anyone know about catchment area for St John's? or is it different because it is Church of England school?

The stats for goodrich last year and heber this will presumably be skewed by th bulge classes which meant that in the year there is no bulge the last man in will be much closer. Furthermore as has been said before bulge classes mean more siblings in later years so the distance will get smaller. Everyone has a vested interest in improving standards in all local schools so that we are not trying to cram our poor children into one or two schools.

I think this website is a bit flawed if you live on the border of postcodes, eg SE15/SE22. It seems to only list schools in your post code. Our nearest school is just a few meters away but doesn't show up when I search because it is not in SE15. Good for summarising OFSTED and results though.

    • It's great that the council will do this, but it does seem a costly waste of their scarce resources, unless there are factors which I don't know about? Surely rather than dealing with a few piles of dog poo on request on an as and when basis they need to find some way of addressing the whole problem? What do other boroughs/countries do? Have things got worse since COVID, when the dog population seems to have quadrupled round here? Did some people acquire dogs without thinking through the less cuddly aspects of ownership? Could dogs be trained to use a litter tray and/or bury their own poo, like cats do? 🤣 (That was a joke, btw).
