Get traffic off South East London?s roads! Vote for Rotherhithe Bridge in the People?s Choice Award

Recommended Posts

Some of you may be aware of the proposed Rotherhithe Bridge design (image attached) that has been nicknamed the ?Boomerang Bridge? from the press it has been receiving over the last few months. reForm Architects, a Southwark based architecture practice and Elliott Wood engineers are proposing London?s first pedestrian and cycle bridge in an area crying out for a river crossing.

From Durrand?s Wharf in Rotherhithe to Westferry road / Marsh wall across the river and predicted to carry 13,000 clean commuters every day (that?s equivalent to 15 full Jubilee Line trains or over 170 full double decker buses) the proposed bridge will connect south east London to the docklands peninsular.

Less congestion on road and rail and cleaner air.

Linking to National Cycle Routes and Cycle Super Highways, it will provide a healthy new travel option for millions and open up more cycle journeys in the south east. It has also been outlined as a much needed crossing in TfL?s Connecting the Capital report.

To find out more information about the project including an animation, see the Rotherhithe Bridge website -

While this is only one award the project is at a stage where demonstrating strong local support for the design will prove to be fundamental in bringing it closer to being built.

If you support this design please VOTE now and SHARE to spread the word!

    • Might it be more respectful to refrain from asking this on a local forum which his family are on as if it's merely akin to casually asking if anyone has heard what's happening with the empty shop space next to Oliver Bonas or if anyone knows which dentists are taking on new patients? Christ. Google it if you're that interested. They are a real family and this isn't a Reddit discussion on a true crime documentary. Extraordinary
