Ahhh - sprung, I actually passed there last night on my way home from a naughtily-drunken NCT girls night out. I wrote the post last night and forgot to send, such was my wooziness. I then forgot to edit it this a.m.

I really shouldn't be allowed out by myself.

Well - here's one knackered mother's (da*ned bank holidays) review of the new Mothercare.

Yes it has parking around the back (and car seat fitting bays and mummy/daddy and baby bays) - you'll have to negotiate construction machinery but I'm sure that's temporary.

No cafe sadly - what a treat that would have been ;-(

Big ELC bit which is well stocked and spacious - no tripping over left-out toys (or at least not yet). Overall well-stocked with lots of pushers (10% off until Monday!), clothing, maternity, feeding, clean bum and bathing stuff etc.

You'll have to get used to saying 'I'm fine thank you' a lot as the newbie and slightly over-keen sales staff seem to be very concerned with your wellfare (bless - give them time).

Nothing though that I hadn't seen before - so my quest for solutions to problems I didn't know I had remains unvanquished.

Lovely shiny clean though and long long opening hours!!

Our NCT group met there for our weekly get together (we were quite excited!)

it was bright spacious and yes the staff were VERY welcoming

plus i asked if they had a specific type of bib i'm looking for and they said they didn't but they'd order some in. So they were very keen to please!

all good

    • Tennis got really popular over the COVID period and all the clubs round here ended up with long waiting lists.   Put yourself on the list for all of them anyway, things might move faster than you think, definitely for Dulwich Sports as they may be about to get planning permission to build new courts.  Ask about off-peak membership if you work from home, it's often much easier to get and some clubs will give priority to off-peak members when full places come up.   In the meantime, most of the clubs on your list offer group and individual coaching to non-members with a guest fee.   And sign up for local tennis leagues which organises matches at all levels in the local parks - there's a league for Kennington and Brockwell Parks which is really good and a slightly gentler one for Belair and Dulwich Parks.  I did this for a couple of years and had a lot of fun.   https://www.lta.org.uk/compete/adult/local-tennis-leagues/
    • I used Aria on Monday to solve some plumbing issues including a leaky outdoor tap.  Excellent service and a really nice guy. I'll be using him again no doubt.
    • We needed a switch replaced - small job but necessary. Terry responded very quickly to our request and was prompt to arrive, polite and professional and completed the job quickly and without fuss.
    • Does it need to be a tennis club specifically? JAGS has a lot of courts.
